Goat Scaping - Ecogoats

 

​From 2012 through 2016 our North end wooded 5 acres, was cleared by our goats...termed Goatscaping. What the goats cleaned up of unwanted brush and invasive speices (in short order), is less than miraculous.

 

Our goats were an amazing clean up crew and we will miss them dearly. The winter of 2016 we sold our last three does; Flossy, Snowball and Chatty. These were our original girls we brought from the old homestead. Our buck Dancer had passed away that winter.

The next summer we noticed the brush coming back in this area. Our two horses are pastured there now during summer but we are thinking some time in the next couple years we will need to purchase a couple more goats to cleanup again. What has started to grow back is exciting; plants that are more beneficial such as Mullien, Hyssop, and clover to name just a few.
