It's been quite a few years since we've had goats on our homestead. I'll have to look back and see how many, but I think it's been at least five years now. We had been talking about getting a couple to not only keep Pixi my mare some company but also to clean some brush in a 5 acre portion. When I saw a post on Facebook for mini Nigerian whethers for sale we made plans for the drive up north. The Boggs have a farm in Spring Lake. Peggy and Steve Boggs have "Goose Lake Farm Stand" and Earthy Mamas' LLC Facebook page, so make sure to check them out.
Soon the way we stopped in Deer River and had breakfast with family for a nice visit. By the way the Sportsman's Cafe is "THE PLACE" to eat! I ordered the Stuffed Hash Browns and
brought half home for supper.
We had such a nice visit with the Boggs! Visiting their farm brought back fond memories of our life on the old homestead in Aitkin.
We ended up bringing three little guys home! We are going to have so much fun! Names are still pending but I'm sure they will be a theme with the Eclipse today!
When we brought them to the shed that will be shared with my mare Pixi, she was reluctant to get to close. But she will settle in just fine as she had shared a pasture with our Llamas and Boer buck.
